Single Engine Seaplane Rating

Flying a seaplane allows you to combine the fun of boating with the pleasure of being airborne. Seaplanes allow you access to some of the most pristine wilderness areas in the country and you can bring your boat along with you in the form of a plane! Imagine landing on a remote lake, dropping anchor, and casting out a line. Airplanes equipped with amphibious floats, which have retractable wheels, have the added advantage of flying from airports as well as water.  Plus, flying the seaplane adds to your retract flight time and a seaplane rating counts as your Biennial flight review. The whole training process genreally consists of 3-5 hours in the aircraft and a few hours of ground time in preparation for the check ride. The checkride takes approx. 1 hour ground and 1 hour flight.

Tailwheel Endorsement

“Flying a taildragger brings out the bush pilot in everyone” Learning to fly a tail wheel aircraft hones those “stick and rudder” skills to a fine point. While flying a conventional gear aircraft can be a little more forgiving during the take off, landing, and taxing process, tailwheel flying sharpens those skills. Making a pilot that much more skilled and safer in their flyng activities. Upon the completion of the tail wheel training, only an endorsment in your logbook is required to fly tailwheel aircraft, saving you the cost of the checkride.
